Maura Monaghan

Maura's Short Bio:

maura monaghanHi, I’m Maura:

I grew up scribbling in notebooks, and until recently the thought of relocating my writing to the digital world seemed like an impossible goal. But when I finally took the plunge and created an online portfolio, I immediately saw the benefits of having my work out on the web. Since then I’ve learned everything I can about creating different websites, so that I can help those in a similar situation get online without a similar headache.

More About Maura

Since joining Website Builder Chart in summer 2019, Maura has delved into topics like web design and ecommerce. She’s attended some pretty cool events on the latter, and now considers herself a resource on the topic. If you told her all this a few years ago, she’d be in disbelief. Luckily, Maura and the internet have come a long way together since then.

When she’s not writing about website builders, she’s probably just off writing about something else, like royal wedding cakes or cowboys in Mississippi. An English major through and through, she’s glad to finally be combining her love of words with her newfound confidence in digital tools.

Hannah's Short Bio:

Hannah WBE AuthorHi, I’m Hannah:

I’m Website Builder Chart’s Content Manager, which means I’m in charge of checking everything written for our site, as well as writing my own articles.

I started writing about the wonderful world of the web around two years ago, and haven’t looked back since. Put simply, there’s never been a more exciting time to get online. Having tested all of the best website builders and ecommerce platforms on the market, I’m in a great position to help you do just that!

I hope you find our articles helpful, and please feel free to pop me a message with anything else you’d like to see here on Website Builder Chart.

You can find me on Linkedin here.

More About Hannah

Hannah previously worked as a B2B writer before joining the great ship Website Builder Chart in February 2019.

Hannah is WBE’s Content Manager. As well as writing her own articles, it’s her job to fact-check each and every article Website Builder Chart produces, and to make sure we’re always offering the best possible experience to our visitors. Website Builder Chart is the number one resource for getting people online, and she’s proud to say that every single article we create is researched, written, checked and double checked with precision and passion.

Having started her own blog on the ‘wrong WordPress’ back in 2015, we’re pleased to say that Hannah’s technical know-how has come a long, long way in the last four years. Having personally tested and researched all the top website builders on the market, she could now happily bore you with the differences between and for several hours.

Outside of Website Builder Chart, her writing and research has been featured on several websites in both the technical and the not-so-technical worlds, including RankMagic, Business Insider and Stylist.

When not discussing Wix and Squarespace with anyone who’ll listen, Hannah often goes running around one of London’s many beautiful parks. On rare occasions, you’ll find her doing both simultaneously (and somewhat breathlessly).

Check out her articles below, and please give her any feedback on what else you’d like to see on Website Builder Chart. She’s all ears!

Dan Barraclough

Dan's Short Bio:

Hi, I’m Dan:

I’m now an expert in website builders (more specifically, in ecommerce platforms), but it wasn’t always that way! I’ve been writing across different channels for years, and I used to think website design was just for professionals, because maybe like you, I had no coding or design experience.

However, with the help of our expert researchers at Website Builder Chart (and after testing every website builder myself), I can confidently guide you through on how to get the most out of each one.

More About Dan

Dan has been a writer at Website Builder Chart since late 2018, and has since become a pro in the world of website builders. He’s grown to love ecommerce platforms in particular, focusing his energy into researching, testing, and reviewing each platform to give you the best possible advice.

While his passion for soccer might be on a par with his passion for ecommerce platforms, we can assure you his skills are anything but. Put simply, he’s no Pele. However, he is one of the leading ecommerce writers on WBE, and particularly loves a ‘versus’ piece. And a pun.

On the soccer theme, one of the biggest fixtures on his content calendar was Squarespace vs Shopify, a contest between two heavy hitters and one of his favorite articles. It doesn’t stop there. He also oversees the WBE social media, tweeting tremendous tales of website builders, hosting providers, and online stores.

Not just a website creator wordsmith, though, his words have been featured on big publications like the International Business Times discussing the rate of ecommerce returns, and he has recently crossed the border into the world of website hosting. By broadening his writing horizons, he can now help people get online more easily.

Hi, I’m Lucy:

I know how scary building a website can be – I’ve been there myself, back when I didn’t have a clue about servers or site speeds. But after working alongside our inhouse experts, testing everything from ecommerce to hosting providers, I’ve got the know-how to help you out. Everyone should have the chance to share their ideas online, whether you’re a tech pro or total code-phobe. That’s why I joined Website Builder Chart – not just to find you the perfect builder or provider, but to make it enjoyable! The virtual world is waiting, so let’s get on our way!

You can find me on Linkedin here.

More About Lucy

Lucy used to have a pretty turbulent relationship with technology. Computers would switch off when they saw her coming, and phones had a terribly sad life expectancy in her hands. The idea of building a website seemed ludicrous, to say the least. Luckily, that didn’t stop her – and one blog later, she had the bug.

Fast forward to her start at Website Builder Chart in 2018, where she combined her true love, writing, with her new-found interest in technology. She hasn’t looked back – since then, her writing has featured on other sites such as FreshDesk.

She started out focusing on website builders, but is now an  ecommerce platforms and hosting pro, too. She uses her expert knowledge to write reviews connecting people with the perfect platform for their needs.

Lucy can usually be found blasting the Harry Potter soundtrack through her earphones while she writes, both in and out of work. When she’s not writing, you can find her swimming, reading, or out walking.

Phones may never be safe around her, but when it comes to finding you the best way of getting online, you’re in good hands with Lucy. Read any of her articles below, and let her know if you enjoy what you find!

Charlie Carmichael

Charlie's Short Bio:

Hi, I’m Charlie:

It’s my job to test and review online platforms. I know first-hand how intimidating it is to create your own website – but it doesn’t have to be. After struggling to build my own site, I committed to helping others with theirs. Nearly two years on, and I’ve helped Website Builder Chart identify the very best online tools out there through detailed and rigorous research. More importantly, I now understand how these platforms can help with your specific needs. Join me as I share what we’ve found.

More About Charlie

Charlie hopped aboard the Website Builder Chart express at the start of 2018 (on his birthday to be exact!) and hasn’t looked back since. He may be a writer by trade, but having joined the team as a researcher, he’s in a unique and ideal position to help you on your online journey.

Charlie’s work about the online world has been featured the internet over, taking pride of place on sites such as TechWyse and Small Business Bonfire. Website builders haven’t always been his forte, though.

He’s come a long way since creating his first website. Online tools and Charlie didn’t get along back then, but they’ve since reconciled their differences and become firm friends. He’s also proved a dab hand with ecommerce platforms and web hosting, too.

Away from work, Charlie enjoys nothing more than reading, talking, and writing about his first love: Soccer. If you’ve got several hours to spare, he’ll happily give you a blow-by-blow account of Leicester City’s 2016 Premier League triumph. Some say obsessed, he prefers ‘passionate’.

From no-hope novice to confident connoisseur, Charlie is living proof that anyone is capable of building their very own website. Read his articles below and feel free to share anything you find particularly interesting or helpful.
